History of the Building
The first and second floors had never before been accesible to the public throughout the buildings various incarnations from The Hare & Hounds through to The Medicine Bar and then Albert & Pearl. The team at House of Wolf saw massive potential in these areas and embarked upon a respectful renovation project, paying homage to the buildings history and retaining as many original features as possible.
House of Wolf’s interior reflects the original artistic concept, blending together contemporary design with Victorian chic, with each room individually styled to fit its feel and function. Original features such as cornicing and curved lead-lined windows are complemented by classic furnishings in the Music Hall.
The first floor Apothecary Bar immerses patrons into the surroundings of a Victorian apothecary with aged glass bottles, gas lamp lighting and an antique mirrored back-bar. Also on the first floor, the Parlour dining room features walls adorned with bespoke hand printed coverings, vintage chandeliers and hand carved mantel pieces.
Both the Attic dining room and Wolf Den bar on the second floor feature double height ceilings with original exposed beams, which are accompanied by decadent furnishings and low wall lighting to create a snug feel. Old copper distillery paraphernalia will adorn the bar, surrounded by comfy lounge seating, perfect for late night drinking.
