Frequently Asked Questions
• Q: Do you have a bar menu, platters or snacks?
A: In both The Apothecary and the Music Hall we offer nuts and olives. If you are interested in something more substantial, please have a look at our FOOD page to see what is on our current set menu and how to make a reservation.
• Q: Can I reserve an area in your ground floor bar, The Music Hall on a Friday or Saturday?
A: Due to the busy public events that take place on Friday and Saturday nights, we do not offer pre-reserved space in the Music Hall, offering a ‘walk-in’ policy instead. We also remove some of the furniture to create a dance floor and audience space, which means that seating is limited. If you would like to privately hire The Apothecary or our private dining room The Parlour for an event, please have a look on our BOOKINGS page. To see what events are coming up this weekend please see EVENTS.
• Q: Can I book a table in The Apothecary on Saturdays?
A: On Saturday nights, we operate a ‘walk-in’ only policy in the Apothecary, which means you do not need a reservation to enjoy a tipple. If on arrival The Apothecary is full you can enjoy a drink in our ground floor bar, The Music Hall, whilst you wait. If it was a VIP table with personal table service you were after specifically, this is something we can offer up in The Attic from 11.30pm onwards on Saturdays. To book one of these tables, please email [email protected]
• Q: How much is the Sunday Roast?
A: The Sunday Roast is £25 per person. This includes a full roast with all its trimmings and BOTTOMLESS Bloody Marys or Mimosas! Please have a look in our SUNDAY ROAST section for more information.
• Q: What is the price of your current residency menu?
A: Our current 5 course set menu is £42.50 excluding drinks & service charge. Please visit our FOOD section for more information about our current residency and their menu that has been exclusively created for House of Wolf.
• Q: I’ve heard things about ‘experimental dining’ and blindfolds while eating! What can I expect?
House of Wolf restaurant aims to showcase some of the UK’s most exciting chefs and culinary artists. Each with an individual style and passion approaching cooking in a new way, our impressive roll call of chefs will ensure a unique and memorable experience on each visit. That said however, each chef’s approach is different to the last and as such, some may be more ‘experimental’ in the conceptual sense, while others are experimental in terms of their cooking processes and ingredients. The menu created by our October chef Caroline Hobkinson for example, featured blindfolds and syringes, and our mini pop-up by Free Company included sugared doughnuts in a paper bag that turned out to be filled with chicken liver parfet and blue cheese (and were amazing) and a cherry that wasn’t a cherry! Some of the chefs we feature are innovative in the way they use the whole animal in their cooking, forage for natural produce, use almost space-age techniques to create the dishes or feature ingredients you may never have heard of before…
Please see our FOOD section for this month’s offering and sample menu.
• Q: What are your opening hours?
A: MONDAY: Closed | TUESDAY – SATURDAY: 6pm – Late | SUNDAY: 12pm – Late
• Q: What is your cancellation policy and why do you need a deposit?
A: Cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance, any later and we will keep your £10 per person deposit and if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice we will deduct 50% of the value of your restaurant booking (food only) from the card details we hold. This is because in these circumstances we would not have enough time to fill your cancelled booking, and we would suffer significant financial loss from staff and food costs.
• Q: Does a BYOB (bring your own alcohol) policy apply to this venue? Do you have a corkage fee?
A: As we are a venue with several functioning licensed bars, we ask that patrons kindly refrain from bringing drinks that have not been purchased from the venue itself into House of Wolf with them. However, if you have a dinner reservation and you have a specific/special wine that you want to have on the night then we might be able to make exceptions to this rule, provided you pay a corkage fee. The price of the corkage is the same price as our cheapest bottle of wine. Please call or email reservations prior to your dinner reservation to make sure we can accommodate corkage on the night in question.
• Q: What sort of food do you serve? Is the menu à la carte?
A: House of Wolf restaurant features the UK’s first-ever permanent series of monthly pop-up chef residencies, showcasing some of the UK’s most exciting chefs and culinary artists. Each month we will be serving a 5 course set tasting menu. For more information about this month’s offering, please see our FOOD page
• Q: Do you have a vegetarian menu and can you cater for all food allergies?
A: We do always have a vegetarian menu available. As it is a set menu the chefs may not always be able to accommodate certain allergies, due to the limitations of produce and it being a set menu. If you have a food allergy or are a vegetarian and would like to make a reservation, please contact reservations and let us know about your dietary requirements so we can notify the chefs. Please note that if it is a last minute booking, or dietary requirements are informed on the day of the reservation, the chefs may not be able to cater for this allergy due to late notice.
• Q: I cannot book on the date or time that I want via your website. Why?
A: This means that the restaurant cannot accommodate a party of your size at the time you require. Please try another date or another time. If it is a party larger than 8 this must be done by contacting reservations directly.
• Q: Does a charge on the door apply to get into the venue.
• A: It is free to get in every Tuesday – Friday (unless there is a special event on, see EVENTS for what is coming up this month). On Saturdays it is free to get in between the hours of 6pm – 8pm. Thereafter there is an entry fee of £5-£8.
If you are interested in Saturday’s event and want to get on the £5 guest list this information can also be found via the events page.
• Q: Lost Property. I’ve lost something in your venue, what should I do?
A: Please send an email to [email protected] with a detailed description of the item you have lost, the date you lost it, and your contact number.
• Q: Do you have wheelchair access?
A: The Music Hall which is on the ground floor can accommodate a wheelchair user. Our experimental cocktail bar, The Apothecary is on the 1st floor, and to get up the stairs you would need assistance. Our private dining room is also located on this floor.
Our main restaurant, The Attic, is located on the 2nd floor, which means you would need assistance to get up the stairs. Please also note that the ladies toilet is on the 1st floor.
• Q: Can I come down and have a look around the venue?
A: If you’re thinking of making a private booking or hosting a special event at House of Wolf, we’d be delighted to give you a tour and some more information in person. Please note that there are certain days and times when this is not possible so please contact [email protected] in advance to arrange the time for your viewing.
